Manila: The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced on Wednesday the arrest of two Chinese nationals accused of kidnapping three foreigners in Batangas. The suspects, aged 27 and 29, were detained by PNP operatives at a police checkpoint in Bacoor, Cavite on May 3. According to Philippines News Agency, the suspects attempted to evade arrest when initially stopped but were eventually captured after a brief pursuit in a residential area. The two are accused of abducting two Chinese nationals and a Korean national in Barangay Balaytigue, Nasugbu, Batangas on May 2. The victims were released the next day following ransom negotiations.
