Manila: The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Thursday said over 4,000 abandoned balikbayan boxes would be donated to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). In a news release, the BOC said it is currently processing the donation of these balikbayan boxes to the DMW, which would oversee their distribution to OFWs. The donation was discussed during the meeting convened by OFW Party-List Rep. PALO, Leyte – Eastern Visayas on Thursday deployed 172 responders, mostly policemen, to help victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami) in the Bicol region. Of the number, 150 are personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), 16 from the Bureau of Fire Protection, and six from the Philippine Coast Guard. PNP Eastern Visayas Regional Director Brig.
