Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying is on medical leave for nine days, from Oct 8 to Oct 16, after undergoing surgery on Oct 4. FBM KLCI Futures Open Mostly Lower

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures were mostly lower in early trade today, tracking the underlying cash market. At 9.44 am, October 2024 contract decreased by 1.5 points to 1,644.5, November 2024 shed 0.5 of-a-point to 1,648.0, March 2025 slipped by 3.0 points to 1,638.0, while December 2024 was unchanged at 1,651.5. Floods: More Evacuees Reported In Kedah, Perlis

The number of flood victims in Kedah and Perlis recorded an increase this morning compared to last night, while in Perak, it remained the same. In KEDAH, the number of flood victims increased to 3,655 people from 1,163 families as of 8 am today, from 3,496 people (1,126 families) last night.
