Act 852 In Final Stages, Awaiting AGC Approval – Dzulkefly

KUALA BESUT, The regulation and an order of Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act 2024 (Act 852) are in the final stages of obtaining approval from the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) before the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) can enforce them, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad. He said that once the five regulations and the order under the Act are approved, the matter will be returned to the MOH for enforcement, including measures to curb the sale of electronic cigarettes (vapes) via vending machines. ‘With this Act, insya-Allah, we will be able to address such issues

Iloilo town gets P10-M tourist rest area

ILOILO CITY: The municipality of Tubungan in Iloilo is a recipient of a PHP10-million tourist rest area (TRA) expected to become operational in six months. Tubungan Mayor Roquito Tacsagon on Saturday said the town is grateful to be chosen for the Department of Tourism (DOT) project. ‘We hope this would attract more tourists,” he said in an interview. 11 killed, 14 missing as heavy rains hit northeastern China

ANKARA: At least 11 people were killed and 14 others went missing as heavy rains and flood hit the Liaoning province in northeastern China, state-run media said on Friday. Heavy rains that caused floods in Huludao in the coastal province also affected thousands of people in the region, state outlet Global Times reported. 22nd Serbisyo Fair: P563-M worth of gov’t aid for 60K Batangueños

MANILA: The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF), the country’s biggest service and convergence caravan, on Saturday rolled out a total of PHP563 million worth of government services and financial aid for over 60,000 in the province of Batangas.
