Pasig bridge hit by barges closed for damage check, repair

Manalo Bridge in Pasig City was temporarily closed after it was hit by barges swept by the strong current of the Marikina River on Wednesday at the height of bad weather caused by Typhoon Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon. ‘This bridge is scheduled to be rehabilitated or reconstructed because masyadong mababa ‘yung freeboard niya (the freeboard is too low). C. Visayas police vows learners’ safety from ‘homes to campuses’

CEBU CITY: The Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 (Central Visayas) has intensified its personnel’s foot patrols to ensure the safety and security of learners during the opening of classes on Monday. Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, director of PRO-7, ordered the chiefs of police stations to strengthen foot patrols in their jurisdiction to watch over schoolchildren’s journey from their homes to their schools. Lt.
