JUMIO UNVEILS 83 PCT SINGAPOREANS CONCERN DEEPFAKES MAY SWAY NEXT ELECTION

KUALA LUMPUR, A new research from Jumio has unveiled growing concern among the general public on the political influence artificial intelligence (AI) and deepfakes may have on Singapore’s next election, and how they might influence trust in online media. The Jumio 2024 Online Identity Study revealed that 83 per cent of Singapore consumers worried about the potential for AI and deepfakes to influence upcoming elections in their country, compared to 75 per cent globally. DOJ to give upgraded tech tools to prosecutors vs. cybercrime

MANILA: The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Wednesday said it is upgrading the technological tools available to prosecutors to enable them to better handle emerging cybercrime trends. GOVT PAYS OVER RM936 MLN FOR CLAIMS UNDER MYSALAM SCHEME

KUALA LUMPUR, The government has paid RM936.12 million for claims under the MySalam scheme from 2019 to December 2023, according to the Ministry of Finance. Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying said the total claims involved 1.27 million beneficiaries, including B40 individuals and their spouses between the ages 18 to 65 years old who are recipients of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR). She said that the payment involved claims for hospitalisation benefits, critical illness, patients under investigation, and COVID-19, as well as claims for medical device costs. THE JAPAN MARITIME DAILY GEARS UP TO HOST GLOBAL SHIPPING SEMINAR IN SINGAPORE
