Parts of Batanes now under signal no. 2 as Carina slightly intensifies

MANILA: Tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) no. 2 is now hoisted over several areas in Batanes as Typhoon Carina slightly intensifies, the weather bureau said Tuesday. In its 11 a.m. update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Carina packs maximum sustained winds of 140 km. per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph. A farmer and his young son died in a highway accident in Datu Anggal Midtimbang, Maguindanao del Sur on Monday afternoon, police said. Lt.
