SoCot logs 22 fireworks-related injuries

A total of 22 fireworks-related injuries have been reported to the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU) of the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) here. In a statement Monday, the IPHO reported that the figure is 144 percent higher compared to the same period last year’s 15 injuries, despite repeated reminders by the province’s health officials. The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) has been working nonstop since last year’s onslaught of Typhoon Odette to assist affected plantation areas. The city government has temporarily suspended effective January 2 the issuance of quick response travel permits (QTP) for tourists or leisure travelers as the city prepares new guidelines for non-essential travels. The local government here is expecting more than 12,000 businesses to renew their permits this year. Sea turtle hatchlings released in Ilocos Norte

Baby sea turtles emerged from a guarded hatchery in Bangui, Ilocos Norte and were guided back to the wild before the dark on Monday.
