NoCot cops step up drive after seizure of P2.4-M smuggled cigs

LIBUNGAN, North Cotabato – Police in North Cotabato have stepped up their operation against smugglers who have penetrated markets here for their cigarette contrabands. In a statement Monday, Brig. PSA-NegOr hits 94.8% of national ID target

DUMAGUETE CITY – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Negros Oriental on Monday said it has reached 94.8 percent of its target in the national identification program list-up for this year. Engr. Ariel Fortuito, PSA-Negros Oriental provincial chief, told the Philippine News Agency that as of November 27, the total Step 2 output for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) was at 809,807. NegOcc drug suspect yields P476-K shabu

BACOLOD CITY – A resident of San Carlos City in northern Negros Occidental yielded PHP476,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust on Sunday afternoon, a police report on Monday showed. The suspect was identified as Junry Guitguit, 36, unemployed, and a resident of Urban Fatima Village in Barangay Rizal. Lt. Enrollment, scholarship application easier with PhilID

DAVAO CITY – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said out-of-school youths will greatly benefit from the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in order for them to have a chance to enroll again in the future or apply for scholarships. In a recent post, the PSA said there are about 7 million out-of-school youths in the country, majority of whom have no valid ID or documents. Now that the PhilSys is on full gear, they have a chance to avail of the Philippine Identification (PhilID) card or the national ID, which must be accepted as a valid document as mandated by law.

Another oil price rollback set this week

MANILA – Oil firms will implement price rollback on petroleum products starting Tuesday morning. In separate advisories, Caltex, Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, Seaoil, and Shell said they will reduce gasoline prices by PHP1.10 per liter and PHP0.60 per liter on diesel products. Caltex, Seaoil, and Shell will also cut kerosene prices by PHP0.50 per liter.
