166 DITO cell sites to be rolled out across region: BARMM exec

The country’s newest telecommunication firm, DITO Telecommunity Corporation, is expanding its services in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) with the construction of 166 more cell sites across the region. In a statement Wednesday, Minister Dickson Hermoso of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC-BARMM) said he recently met with representatives from the DITO firm aimed at improving telecommunications services in the region. House panel approves PSALM extension beyond 2026

The House Committee on Energy on Wednesday approved the measure extending the corporate life of Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) Corporation for another 30 years. The panel, chaired by Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo, approved the committee report and substitute bill to House Bill 10006. Albay Rep. A police manhunt is underway against two “persons of interest” who allegedly shot dead a village councilman and his companion here on Tuesday afternoon. Lt. Fayeed Cana, spokesperson of the Maguindanao police provincial office, on Wednesday identified the victims as Mansor Andil, 34 village councilor of Barangay Pandag, and Aliakbar Abdulatip, 37, both of Pandag town in Maguindanao. The Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed an administrative complaint filed against two prosecutors for turning down a lawsuit. In a resolution dated October 11 and released Wednesday, the SC’s 2nd Division dismissed the administrative complaint against Senior Assistant City Prosecutors Francisco L. Salomon and Rose Sharon C. Abila, for lack of jurisdiction, noting that the case must be properly “filed with and resolved by the Office of the Ombudsman.” Gloria L.
