DepEd to accept enrollees until Sept. 13

The Department of Education (DepEd) 6 (Western Visayas) is appealing to parents to enroll their children in time for the opening of classes on September 13. DepEd-6 Director Ramir B. Uytico, in a press conference on Friday, said public schools in Western Visayas would continue to accept enrollees until September 13. He, however, noted that no official declaration has been made on a possible extension. Data from DepEd’s Policy, Planning and Research Division (PPRD) showed that as of September 9, the region has 1,491,186 enrollees, which is equivalent to 71.13 percent of their enrollment last school year of 2.09 million.

Housing production recovers in H1 2021: DHSUD

BARMM youth urged to submit projects for funding

The Bangsamoro Youth Commission of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BYC-BARMM) has encouraged regional youth organizations to submit project proposals for possible funding from the commission and its partner development agencies. NGCP restores typhoon-hit power lines in E. Visayas

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has restored power to all transmission lines damaged by Typhoon Jolina, the system’s operator has reported. The Visayas grid’s last affected line, the Calbayog-Bliss 69kV line, was restored at 7:33 a.m. on Friday. “Transmission services in other affected areas are now under normal operations as NGCP successfully completed the restoration of lines affected by the typhoon,” the NGCP said in its update sent to reporters. The NGCP mobilized its line crews to restore power in areas in the region hit by widespread power outages when the typhoon crossed the region on Sept.

3 men yield P650-K shabu in Nueva Ecija

Three suspects yielded around PHP650,000 worth of illegal drugs in an operation in this province on Thursday. Col. Rhoderick Campo, director of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office, said on Friday members of the Cabanatuan City Police Station arrested Dexter Mendoza, Alberto Gayla, and Joey Pajulas in a buy-bust in Barangay Sangitan West, Cabanatuan City. BSP’s 28-day securities’ rate slips on strong demand

Rate of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) 28-day bills declined on Friday as demand remains strong, buoyed by the high liquidity situation in the economy. Data released by the central bank showed that the average rate of the debt paper, which is another excess liquidity siphoning facility of the BSP, slipped to 1.7181 percent from 1.7194 percent during the auction last September 3.
