DOLE, LGUs help Pangasinan fresh grads land jobs

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has partnered with the local government units (LGUs) of Alaminos and Dagupan cities in the full-cycle employment facilitation for fresh graduates through the JobStart program. In an interview on Tuesday, DOLE Ilocos Region information officer Justin Paul Marbella said the two LGUs that activated the program in their localities will identify the beneficiaries for the program. DOLE set to lift suspension of OFW deployment to Israel

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is set to lift the temporary suspension of deployment of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to Israel anytime soon. Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said the decision was based on their assessment indicating it is safe again to send Filipino workers, particularly caregivers and tourism workers there. “Anytime now (it will be lifted). GenSan steps up protection, conservation of mangrove forest

The city government has designated a mangrove forest in one of its coastal villages as a special protection area to properly secure the environment and ensure its preservation. Allan Marcilla, head of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office, said Wednesday the move was aimed to protect the environs and resources within the mangrove forest in Barangay Tambler from encroachment and poaching. Unscrupulous groups use Palace official’s name to collect money

The Palace warned the public against bogus groups and individuals claiming to be part of the third telecommunications company in the country, DITO Telecommunity, and collects money by using names of government officials. Law strengthening joint energy body signed

President Rodrigo Duterte has signed a law enhancing the powers and functions of the Joint Congressional Energy Commission (JCEC), an oversight body in charge of implementing energy-related laws. Republic Act (RA) 11571, inked by Duterte on Tuesday, amends RA 9136 or the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA) of 2001 to enable JCEC to exercise its oversight functions in the implementation of all existing energy laws.
