Manila: Two Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung-wong)-affected transmission lines in the Visayas have been restored as of 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines. These lines are the Babatngon-Arado 69kV Line – LEYECO II, and the Amlan-San Carlos 69kV Line – NORECO I.
According to Philippines News Agency, over 20 other power lines in Luzon and Visayas remained down. Meanwhile, the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) reported that around 184,000 of its customers in Laguna, Cavite, Metro Manila, and portions of Batangas, Quezon, and Bulacan have been affected by power outages as of 6 p.m. Sunday.
Meralco has appealed for patience as it prioritizes the safety of both customers and crews on the ground. The company assured affected customers that power will be restored as soon as the weather conditions permit, as stated in a company statement.
