15,199 Bacolod City Households to Receive PHP82.11 Million in Typhoon Relief Cash Aid

Bacolod city: An additional 15,199 households in Bacolod City, affected by Typhoon Tino in November 2025, are set to receive PHP82.11 million in Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

According to Philippines News Agency, data from the city's Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) revealed that the third batch of payout includes 102 severely affected households and 15,199 slightly affected households. The payouts are scheduled from March 9 to 12, with severely affected families receiving PHP10,325 each, totaling PHP1.05 million, while slightly affected families will receive PHP5,369 each, totaling PHP81.06 million.

DSSD head Richelle Verdeprado-Mangga stated that the recipients in this batch are those who were 'left out' or 'replaced' in the first two batches of cash assistance distributed last December. "This is in response to the call of the local government led by Mayor Greg Gasataya. We sincerely thank the DSWD for scheduling the third and final batch of the ECT payout," she added.

The first two batches of payouts, distributed over 19 days from December 12 to 31, released PHP230.12 million in ECT assistance to 39,369 families. These included 3,789 severely affected families and 35,575 slightly affected families.

The DSWD's ECT program serves as a post-disaster intervention, providing unconditional cash assistance to affected families to meet immediate needs. The initiative supports disaster relief and early recovery by empowering households to prioritize their requirements, utilizing local resources to aid in the early restoration of communities.
