There were 10 Middle East flights canceled on Wednesday amid the ongoing security situation in the region. In an advisory, low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) has canceled flights 5J 14/15 Manila-Dubai-Manila; 5J 18/19 Manila-Dubai-Manila, and 5J 740 Manila-Riyadh. Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) canceled flights PR 685 Doha-Manila; PR 684 Manila-Doha; and PR 658/659 Manila-Dubai-Manila. Data from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) indicated that Emirates EK 337 Manila-Doha was also canceled.
According to Philippines News Agency, CEB said those who may want to postpone their travel to and from Dubai until March 8, and to and from Riyadh until March 9, could avail of free rebooking and travel fund conversion. Affected passengers of PAL, on the other hand, could opt for rebooking and a refund.
The advisory further highlights the ongoing disruptions in air travel caused by the precarious security conditions in the Middle East region. CAAP's data also revealed a broader impact on flights within the region, with 93 flights canceled and three diverted from February 28 to March 3. The tally included flights of Qatar Airways, Gulf Air, Etihad Airways, Emirates, and Kuwait Airways, reflecting the widespread effect of the regional security situation on air travel logistics.
