P617-K shabu seized, 8 nabbed in Zambo, Dipolog Cities

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Four suspected big-time drug pushers were among the six people arrested while some PHP617,760 worth of illegal drugs were seized in a series of anti-drug operations in this southern port city, a top police official announced Thursday.

Two other drug suspects facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were arrested in a separate warrant of arrest operations in this city and Dipolog City, according to Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula (PRO-9) director.

Ylagan identified the arrested four alleged big-time drug pushers as Zwingly Mohammad, 51; Abdullaziz Takaki, 38; Sirhan Sarahadil, 33; and, Janneila Jubaira, 38.

The anti-drug operatives of the Zamboanga City Police Office’s (ZCPO) Station 11 arrested the four in a buy-bust operation around 1 a.m. Thursday in Barangay Tugbungan here.

Ylagan said recovered from the suspects were some 90 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP612,000, two coin purses, and PHP700 marked money consisting of seven PHP100 bills.

Ylagan identified the other two suspects arrested in anti-drug operations as Yvan Ross Baylon, 28; and Jaynan Mendoza, 38.

At 1 a.m. on the same day, ZCPO’s Station 7 anti-drug operatives arrested Baylon in an anti-illegal drug operation in Poste Drive, Barangay Pasonanca, also in this city.

He yielded some PHP4,760 worth of suspected shabu, a coin purse, and PHP200 marked money, according to Ylagan.

Anti-drug operations of the ZCPO’s Station 3 arrested Mendoza in possession of some PHP1,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Purok 1, Barangay Sangali, this city.

Ylagan said that charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them.

Arrested in a separate warrant of arrest operations were Menardo Sarita, 39; and, Ron Mark Navarro, 27, who have standing warrants for illegal drug charges with no recommended bail issued by the courts of Dipolog and Zamboanga City, respectively.

Ylagan said that Sarita was arrested around 2 p.m. Thursday in Barangay San Pedro, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte while Navarro around 11:15 a.m. along Natividad street, Barangay Tetuan, this city
