The Department of Education (DepEd) in Central Luzon said it is ready with the Sept. 13 opening of classes in public schools.
DepEd Regional Director May Eclar on Wednesday said amid the challenges brought by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, all the 3,656 public elementary and high schools in the region are ready to start the school year.
“Bagamat ang nakaraang taong panuruan ay hindi naging madali para sa atin, lalo na sa mga guro at mga namamahala ng ating mga paaralan, ngunit doon natin nakita ang ating kalakasan at katatagan. Ang mga aral ng nakaraang panuruang taon ang siya ring ginamit ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon dito sa rehiyon upang mas mapagbuti natin ang paghahatid ng edukasyon sa ating mga mag-aaral sa panuruang taon na ito (Although it was not easy for us the past school year, especially to the teachers and supervisors of our school, it was when we realized our strength and resiliency. The lessons of the past school year are the ones that the Department of Education here in the region used in order to improve the delivery of education to our students in this school year,” Eclar said in an official social media account post.
Based on the school readiness report, DepEd Region 3 obtained an average of 81.19 percent of readiness shown by its planning and governance, teacher support, school head support, support to parents and guardians, and health and safety protocols.
However, the same report indicated that factors still needed to be given attention to are enrollment, learning resources, learner support, and well-being.
Currently, DepEd Region 3 registered a total of 1,854,717 enrollees in all levels or 66 percent of last year’s enrollment and this is 69 percent of the projected 2,699,515 number of learners.
Enrollment in all public schools will be until Sept. 13, 2021.
Meanwhile, DepEd-Central Luzon also launched its regional Public Assistance Command Center (PACC) to address various issues and concerns regarding school opening.
Eclar said learners, parents, and other stakeholders may request assistance from the Regional Oplan Balik Eskwela–PACC.
