C. Luzon logs over 254K Covid-19 recoveries

The total number of patients who recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Central Luzon has breached the 250,000 mark since the onset of the pandemic last year.

The Central Luzon Center for Health Development (CLCHD), in its regional case bulletin released on Wednesday, reported that the total number of recoveries is now pegged at 254,299 which is 95 percent of the total 268,110 confirmed infections in the region.

The region’s active cases stand at 8,420, including the 875 new cases reported on October 12.

Of the total, 935 are asymptomatic cases, 6,424 are mild, 674 are moderate, 320 are severe and 67 are critical.

The total number of those who died due to Covid-19 in the region is 5,391 which is two percent of the total caseload.

To date, 55 percent of some 4,759 Covid-19 beds, 82 percent of 501 intensive care unit beds, and 57 percent of 338 mechanical ventilators dedicated to patients are in use regionwide.

Meanwhile, the CLCHD reported that the total number of residents in the region who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 already reached 2,326,954.

DOH Regional Director Corazon Flores reminded the people to continuously adhere to the minimum public health standards to prevent transmission of the dreaded disease.

She likewise advised those who are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms not to panic and instead immediately coordinate with the barangay health emergency response team in their respective areas.

“Huwag po nating hintayin ang dalawang linggo kung kailan nahihirapan na tayong huminga, saka lang kayo magmamadaling magpadala sa ospital (Let us not wait for two weeks wherein we are already having difficulty in breathing before we rush to the hospital),” Flores said in a social media post on Wednesday.
