Two suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation at a bus terminal here on Wednesday afternoon.
Dindo Abellanosa, information officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Caraga (PDEA-13), told the Philippine News Agency on Thursday that authorities seized from the suspects 10 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 50 grams during the operation at the Langihan Bus Terminal in Barangay Holy Redeemer here at around 5 p.m.
“The confiscated illegal drugs have an estimated value of more than PHP340,000,” Abellanosa said.
He identified the arrested suspects as Dhariy Ybañez, 31, and Shiela Grace Saramosing, 30. The suspects are live-in partners and residents of Barangay Banza, this city.
“Authorities also confiscated from the suspects the buy-bust money consisting of three genuine PHP1,000 bills, the 297 pieces of PHP1,000 bills boodle monies, and two units of cellular phones,” Abellanosa said.
The operation was a joint effort of PDEA-13 together with the Butuan City Police Office Station 2 and the Regional Intelligence Unit of Police Regional Office in Caraga.
Abellanosa said the suspects will be facing criminal charges for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
