MANILABeginning Oct. 13, around 176,000 residents in 20 barangays in Quezon City will experience water service interruption as Manila Water Inc. closes a valve of a major transmission line, to allow the cutting and deactivating of its 300-mm mainline located on the corners of Commonwealth Avenue and Masaya Street in line with the construction of the Manila Metro Rail Transit Line 7.
The water service interruption will start 11 p.m. of October 13 up to 7 a.m. of October 14, according to the Manila Water public advisory.
Manila Water said the following barangays in the city will be affected:
Ramon Magsaysay, Alicia, Santo Cristo, Bagong Pag-asa, Old Capitol Site, Vasra, Project 6, Culiat, Bahay Toro, Tandang Sora, Pasong Tamo, Botocan, Central, Malaya, Pinyahan, Sikatuna Village, San Vicente, Teachers Village East, Teachers Village West, and UP Village
Manila Water is advising residents of the said barangays to store enough water to supply their needs during the interruption period.
The water concessionnaire said the deactivation of the pipe will have no effect on the water supply in the affected barangays after the activity.
