U.S. dollar rises against most major currencies

NEW YORK-- The U.S. dollar increased against most major currencies on Wednesday as hawkish remarks from Federal Reserve officials raised market speculation for a rate-hike later this month.

In late New York trading, the euro erased to 1.0553 dollars from 1.0604 dollars, while the dollar bought 113.69 Japanese yen, higher than 112.02 yen in the previous session.
