MANILA The low pressure area spotted east of Visayas has developed into a tropical depression and is expected to enter the country on Wednesday.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the tropical depression, located 1,180 km east of Visayas will be named 'Marilyn' once it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
The trough of the tropical depression will bring scattered rain showers over eastern Visayas and Bicol region and the provinces of Quezon and Aurora.
PAGASA, however, said the tropical depression is less likely to make landfall in the country.
Zambales and Bataan will have cloudy with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the southwest monsoon.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms.
