SW monsoon, trough of LPA to bring rains over parts of PH

MANILA The southwest monsoon and the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) will bring rain showers in some parts of the country on Tuesday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said it was monitoring an LPA spotted at 975 km. east of Catarman, Northern Samar.

PAGASA said due to the trough of the LPA, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will affect the Bicol and Eastern Visayas regions, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.

Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands will likewise have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Temperature in Metro Manila will range from 26-32 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City, 25 degrees to 35 degrees Celsius; Baguio City, 17 degrees to 23 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu, 25 degrees to 33 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao, 24 degrees to 32 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
