MANILA-- Architecture, design, and engineering students will soon compete in a contest to build the walls of Intramuros using LEGO blocks.
iMake History Fortress Architecture Scale Model Competition is an architecture, design, engineering, history and educational event that engages students to create scale models of historical buildings/cathedrals in Intramuros.
The contest proper, which will take place on August 1 to September 30, will be organized by the Intramuros Administration and Multi-Media, Inc., the national partner and exclusive distributor of LEGO education in the Philippines.
It also celebrates the 70 years of Filipino and Danish diplomatic relations and highlights the historical buildings as well as the cathedrals of Intramuros.
Meanwhile, the launch of the competition will take place at the Cuartel de Sta. Barbara, Fort Santiago, Intramuros on July 27 at 10 a.m.
Once the LEGO buildings are built, the creations will be displayed at the first floor of the iMake History Fortress Learning Center in Fort Santiago.
The iMake History Fortress Learning Center is currently undergoing construction.
It will be a venue for training the youth to be architects, designers and engineers.
Training takes an interactive learning approach with the use of architecture/building, early engineering, history and computer programming activities as well as architecture/history modules to showcase the rich history of Intramuros and the Philippines.
