VISIT and revisit Singapore as it offers new attractions every year, an official said.
Adrian Kong, Singapore Tourism Board’s area director for the Philippines and Brunei International Group, in his presentation to Davao media said they are giving more reasons for foreign tourists to visit and revisit Singapore as they prepare a calendar of activities that best suits anyone’s interests from food, fashion, arts, sports, entertainment and more.
“One cannot say that when they visited once or twice Singapore they already witnessed all the tourism activities the country is offering because every month, we prepared different events for our tourists,” Kong said.
“If you visited Singapore in 2015, still there are a lot of reasons to visit Singapore this year,” Kong added.
For 2016, STB already staged the Singapore Art Week (January) and Lunar New Year/ Chingay (February). At present, the board and other Singapore’s tourism stakeholders are gearing up for the The Great Egg-Venture (March), Tulipmania-Gardens by the Bay (April), Mega Fashion Events (May), Great Singapore Sale (June), Singapore Food Festival (July), Singapore Night Festival (August), Singapore Grand Prix (September), WTA Finals (October), Singapore Biennale (November), and Festive Light-Ups (December).
In its website, STB forecasts the 2016 tourism receipts to be in the range of S$22.0 to $22.4 billion and international visitor arrivals in the range of 15.2 to 15.7 million.
“STB will continue to intensify its marketing efforts by expanding into more secondary cities in Singapore's top source markets, and building more marketing partnerships with trade and non-trade partners such as airlines and banks. It will also run global campaigns to reinforce the perception of Singapore as a top business event destination and work with trade partners to drive business event attendance,” STB said.
At present, Singapore has a total of $22 billion global spending contributed by foreign tourists.
