Sara’s camp denies quote card on K-12 amendment

Vice president-elect Sara Duterte's camp on Thursday denied the veracity of the social media quote card containing the latter's supposed proposal to amend the K to 12 Program.

Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco, Duterte's spokesperson, said the quote card saying the vice president-elect is advocating for a shift to “K14 plus basic education” is fake.

Aside from falsely attributing the K to 12 amendment to Duterte, the fake quote card also stated the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) will be compulsory with a two-year mandatory service in the Armed Forces of the Philippines without salary.

“Vice president-elect Sara Duterte has never released any statements to this effect,” Frasco said.

“This is not the first, and we anticipate that this will not be the last of these nefarious attempts to discredit, attack, and attribute lies and conjectures against vice president-elect Sara Duterte as she transitions into the role of Vice President and Secretary of Education," she added.

She also urged the public to be circumspect against persons and groups who continue to proliferate disinformation against Duterte.
