The municipality of Glan, was proclaimed drug-free after complying with the parameters set forth by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) as provided in Section 8, DDB Board Regulation No. 3 Series of 2017, otherwise known as Strengthening the Implementation of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program, LapeAa said.
All 31 barangays of the town have reached drug-cleared status after members of the Oversight Committee composed of representative of PDEA, DILG, the PNP, DOH and local government units have convened and validated the non-availability of drug supply in the area and the absence of drug transit activity, clandestine drug laboratory, clandestine drug warehouse, clandestine chemical warehouse, marijuana cultivation site, drug den or resort, drug pusher and drug user.

Upon verification of the Oversight Committee, the concerned barangay shall be given 30 days to take appropriate action and failure to do so shall be a ground to declare the concerned barangay as 'drug-affected' and will be subjected again to barangay drug-clearing operations.
We are very glad that the Municipality of Glan, known for its beach resorts and excellent food, is free from illegal drugs. It will be a big boost to the growing tourism industry of the place, the PDEA chief said.
