MANILA A portion of the Regalado Highway in Quezon City will be closed to motorists from June 16 to August 15, 2017 to pave way for the construction of the second phase of the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) that will traverse from North Avenue to San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.
In its traffic advisory Wednesday, the DOTr said it will create a task force that will enforce a traffic management plan for the partial closure of Regalado Highway from Mindanao Avenue to Bristol Street.
It will be composed of the DOTr, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety (QC-DPOS), and the EEI Corporation.
Vehicles coming from Commonwealth Avenue and going to the direction of Quirino Highway have limited access to only one lane.
The DOTr asked motorists coming from San Jose del Monte to Quezon Memorial Circle to use Quirino Highway and Commonwealth Avenue, as well as Belfast Street and Mindanao Avenue.
Vehicles coming from Quezon Memorial Circle going to San Jose Del Monte may use Mindanao Avenue and Regalado Highway or Bristol Street and Ascension Street.
A part of Regalado Highway is closed from April 17 to June 16, 2017 for the construction of the first phase of the MRT-7 project from Bristol Street to Commonwealth Avenue.
The MRT Line 7 project involves the financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the 23-km. elevated railway line with 14 stations from San Jose del Monte, Bulacan to MRT 3 North Ave. in Quezon City and the 22-km. asphalt road from the Bocaue Interchange of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) to the intermodal terminal in Tala.
The road component will divert northern provincial buses operation to San Jose del Monte, decongesting EDSA.
