MANILA The Quezon City local government is providing free livelihood and skills training as part of its commitment to alleviate poverty in the locality.
This became evident as the Quezon City Council passed a resolution last Monday allowing a facility in Barangay Mariana to be used for free livelihood training and seminars.
Authored by Councilor Raquel Malangen, City Resolution 7632-2018 authorizes Mayor Herbert Bautista to enter into a tripartite memorandum of agreement with the Lion's President League of the Philippines (LPLP) and Barangay Mariana.
The MOA will allow the LPLP to conduct livelihood training and seminars for the residents at the newly-built two-story training center of the barangay.
The LPLP has made its representations with Barangay Mariana and the Quezon City government to allow it to continue its advocacy of providing free livelihood and skills training at the Barangay Mariana Training Center, the resolution said.
The facility was constructed by the city government at the request of Barangay Mariana for a venue to conduct free livelihood, skills and education training for its residents and the general public. (PNA)
