MANILA Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista on Wednesday turned over 300 body-worn cameras and 3,000 handcuffs to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) to promote transparency during police operations.
QCPD Director, Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel Jr., who received the new equipment, thanked the city government under the leadership of Bautista, Vice-Mayor Josefina Joy Belmonte and the entire City Council for their continuing support to QCPD.
Esquivel underscored the importance of body cameras and handcuffs, especially in the fight against criminality and illegal drugs.
He said the new acquisitions will again put the QCPD a step ahead of other PNP units in terms of logistics and mobilization.
Sa pamamagitan ng mga body-cams na ito, mas masusuportahan natin ang ating mga anti-criminality operations lalung-lalo na ang ating kampanya laban sa iligal na droga (With these body-cams, we would have support in our anti-criminality operations, especially in our campaign against illegal drugs), Esquivel said.
