MANILA-- More than 200 students who availed of Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista's technical scholarship grant will soon be part of the fast growing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) community, said Ares Gutierrez, chief QC Public Affairs Office on Wednesday.
Gutierrez said they have ties with different BPOs located in the city that will priorities graduates the Contact Center Competency Course.
The 225 graduates of Contact Competency Course under the Mayor Herbert Bautusta Technical Scholarship Grant is our own way of helping QC residents to be productive citiaen, Gutierrez told Philippine News Agency in a telephone interview.
The Contact Center Competency Course program is a project of Mayor Herbert Bautista who wanted the youth to acquire technical skills and help them get jobs in the fast-rising business process outsourcing industry.
All of the beneficiaries are residents of Quezon City and have finished secondary (high school) studies.
The students were subjected to 120 hours of intensive skills training in the communication and technology course.
The Contact Center Competency Course program is an undertaking of the Quezon City Public Employment Services Office (PESO) in partnership with the Scholarship and Youth Development Program (SYDP) and the Quezon City Information and Communication Technology - Global Service Outsourcing Task Force.
