MANILA Informal settler families (ISFs) in Quezon City may soon have their own houses once the onsite socialized housing project of the city government is developed.
The Quezon City Council has authorized Mayor Herbert Bautista to acquire a 2,000square meter parcel of land in Barangay Baesa for the development of a housing project for ISFs.
QC Councilor Marivic CoPilar sponsored the authorization under City Resolution ?71852017, which is expected to benefit around 102 ISFs presently occupying the property.
The resolution said the city mayor "shall represent the city in all its business transactions and sign in its behalf all bonds, contracts, and obligations, and such other documents upon the authority of the Sangguniang Panlungsod or pursuant to law or ordinance".
Under the propoor housing program, housing communities will be developed to provide safe and affordable homes for the poor.
