MANILA -- The Philippine National Police Counter Intelligence Task Force (PNP-CITF) arrested Friday a lady police officer in an entrapment operation at a convenience store just outside Camp Crame for alleged robbery extortion.
Based on the report of CITF , the police officer was identified as SPO1 May Ann Malcontento, who is assigned at the Criminal Investigation Detection Group (CIDG) in Camp Crame.
Malcontento was arrested by police operatives at the 7/11 Convenience Store along Boni Serrano Avenue at around 5:40 p.m. after she was caught red-handed receiving a Louis Vuitton bag worth PHP34,000, a Wristwatch worth PHP2,999 and PHP50,000 cash, in which PHP48,000 were boodle money and PHP2,000 as marked money.
The entrapment operation stemmed from the complaint of Sonia Gaba, who was allegedly harassed by Malcontento by calling on her phone and demanding the items mentioned in exchange for not being targeted for another entrapment operation by the CIDG.
Gaba was previously arrested and charged for illegal recruitment and estafa but her earlier case was dismissed by the court.
Malcontento is currently under the custody of the CITF. (PNA)
