The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) is set to receive on August 23 a vehicle donation from Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) to further beef up the agency's growing fleet of transportation assets vital to relief and rescue operations in times of calamities.
MMPC President and CEO Yoshiaki Kato is scheduled to lead the turnover of a gray Strada GLX 2.5 Diesel to PRC Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon in simple rites at the MMPC Greenfield Auto Park in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
The said donation is in line with MMPC's continuing support to PRC responders during disasters, typhoons, and other emergency situations. Also expected to attend the turnover ceremony are MMPC Vice Presidents Shigeru Ogura, Hirofumi Shibata, Orlando Alvarez, Jr. And Yasuhiro Maruyama, Eddie Jose, Chairman Emeritus, Phil. Parts Makers Association, Edward Jose, VSO Global President, and PRC Laguna Chapter staff and Board of Directors.
From 2013 to 2015, a total of Php11.3 million has been donated by the car manufacturing company to PRC. MMPC donated Php1 million for PRC's operations during Typhoon Yolanda, cash amounting to Php 1,000,000 was given in November 2013, MMPC Tokyo Japan extended their donation amounting to Php 3,000,000, the same year in December, and cash amounting to Php 7,368,000 for general fund donation in 2015.
This is the fourth time the MMPC will be donating to PRC as part of its commitment to help the humanitarian organization in the effective delivery of services to people in dire need of assistance.
