MANILA The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) suspended sea travel in parts of Southern Luzon and Bicol regions on Monday morning due to inclement weather caused by the enhanced southwest monsoon.
In an advisory, PCG said a total of 193 passengers, 30 motorbancas and 5 sea vessels were stranded in ports in the provinces of Camarines Sur, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon and Northern Quezon as of 4 a.m. Monday.
State weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the southwest monsoon would continue to dump moderate to occasional heavy rains in Luzon that might cause flooding and landslides. (PNA)
