MANILA-- The southwest monsoon affecting the western part of Luzon and Visayas will cause rains over parts of these islands on Monday, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, Ilocos, Calabarzon, Bicol, Mimaropa, Zambales, Bataan, eastern and western Visayas.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, on the other hand, will be experienced over the rest of the country.
The low pressure area that PAGASA is monitoring was last spotted at 440 kilometers east northeast of Guiuan, eastern Samar.
Meanwhile, the agency said moderate to occasionally strong winds will blow from southwest to southeast over the northern and western sections of Luzon, and from southwest to west over Visayas and Mindanao.
Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough.
Light to moderate winds will blow from southwest to southeast over the rest of Luzon with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
