MANILA A Catholic prelate on Friday expressed support for the possible extension of martial law in Mindanao.
I am for the extension of martial law provided the Constitution of our land is its basis, Ozamiz Archbishop Martin Jumoad said in an interview.
Jumoad lauded personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) who are overseeing peace and order in the region.
I am happy with our soldiers and policemen in the detachments. They are very respectful and courteous, he said.
"Well-disciplined and ready to implement the Rule of Law, our people need to be disciplined, the Ozamiz archbishop added.

There are always lapses and we are just human beings, he said.
