MANILA- PhilJobNet, the Department of Labor and Employment's internet-based job and applicant matching portal, recorded a total of 10,756 job vacancies for the week, with employment opportunities in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry-leading the top spot.
Based on data from the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE), which maintains the centralized database of PhilJobNet, the vacancies are for the positions of call center agent with 2,086; customer service assistant with 776; service crew with 74; staff nurse with 674 vacancies; production machine operator with 602, promo salesperson 595; real estate salesman at 570; manufacturing laborer with 515, sales clerk with 513, and sales associate professional with 505 vacancies.
Other posted vacancies are non-formal education teacher with 449, cashier with 379, technical support staff at 377; door-to-door salesperson with 375; janitor 310; telecommunication specialist, 297; beauty consultant, 260; salesman, 247; sugar production machine operator, 240; and mason (general), with 240 vacancies.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III encouraged the public to make full use of the PhilJobNet's enhanced services as it fast tracks the job seekers' search for jobs and the employer's search for a work force.
As of 9 March, a total of 1,535 accredited employers had posted job vacancies at the PhilJobNet, while a total of 14,077 are the registered job seekers.
An individual looking for a job and at least 15 years old may register at PhilJobNet, while any establishment or employer duly recognized by Philippine business authorizing agencies and with existing Tax Identification Number (TIN) may register as an employer.
Employers may invite registered job applicants for a job interview on the desired date and may print an applicant's profile.
Jobseekers, on the other hand, are provided an option to apply online and to view top hiring companies. PhilJobNet has also made job matching more flexible by allowing users to modify filters, such as specific job requirements and applicant qualifications.
The portal has the capability to upload applicant's profile picture, company's logo and documentary requirements. It also has the facility to retrieve or reset forgotten password.
PhilJobNet service is free of charge for both job applicants and establishments.
