MANILA -- The number of families affected by the severe weather caused by the southwest monsoon has reached 25,533 or equivalent to 96,781 people, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its 6 a.m. update Monday.
These affected families are in Regions 1, 3 and Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan).
Of this number, 389 or 1,776 individuals are still being aided in 14 evacuation centers, according to the update signed and released by NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad.
The number of damaged houses was placed at 61, with 46 totally destroyed and 15 partially damaged, in Regions 1, 3, and Mimaropa.
Agriculture damage in Region 3 was estimated at PHP36.79 million. (PNA)
