NCRPO records 91 injured devotees of Black Nazarene

Around 91 devotees have been given medical attention during the ongoing "Traslacion" of the image of the Black Nazarene Monday, the National Capitol Region Police Office (NCRPO) said.

NCRPO said in a data obtained from the Command Post in Quiapo as of 3 p.m., a total of 91 injured devotees who have experienced dizziness, hypertension, difficulty in breathing, abrasion/laceration, sprain, and unconsciousness were given treatment by health personnel in the area.

As of 2 p.m., the procession was at Palanca-Lacson; Tail-Quintin Paredes. Crowd was estimated to reach 1 million.

Around 28,000 people are waiting inside the Quiapo church for the arrival of the image of the Black Nazarene.

The procession started at 5:32 a.m. Monday after a Mass officiated by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle at the Quirino Grandstand.

NCRPO said no untoward incident were reported and situation is still generally peaceful.
