MANILA, March 31 (PNA) -- Supt. Lito Cabamongan, the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory satellite office in Antipolo City, turned positive in the initial drug test after he was arrested in a pot session in Las Pinas City on Thursday.
This was reported by PNP Crime Lab director Chief Supt. Aurelio Trampe on Friday after Cabamongan underwent a drug test in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Thursday night.
However, Trampe said, the result of the confirmatory drug test which will be released next week still has to be awaited to make sure that there will be an "air-tight" case against Cabamongan.
The PNP Crime Lab chief noted that the confirmatory drug test will be the legal basis of the case to be filed against Cabamongan.
PNP chief Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa confronted Cabamongan in Las Pinas City police station 6 Thursday afternoon and scolded him saying that he should have been dismissed from the service as he was earlier arrested for making a scene in a movie theatre recently.
Cabamongan allegedly insisted to enter a movie theatre using his police badge and when he was able to enter, he made a scene by doing a "yoga" and "push ups" in the aisle of the cinema as if he was high on drugs.
According to the PNP chief, if Cabamongan is confirmed to be positive of using illegal drugs, he will be charged with grave misconduct and immediately dismissed from the service, aside from the appropriate criminal case for the use of illegal drugs to be filed against him. (PNA)
