MANILA-- -- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will open the service road parallel to the Roxas Boulevard in order to reduce the vehicular volume in the area.
MMDA General Manager Thomas Orbos said that once the service road is open, parking will not be allowed.
"We are coordinating with establishments along Roxas Boulevard and the local government units of Manila and Pasay for the clearing of obstructions," Orbos said in an interview with reporters.
Orbos, however, did not give a definite date as to when this will be implemented.
He noted that vehicles parked infront of buildings such as the United States and Japan Embassy, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and Department of Finance impede traffic flow at the service road.
MMDA is also eyeing the widening of Roxas Boulevard to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles. (PNA)
