Maybank Again Voted 'Best Private Banking Services In Malaysia'

KUALA LUMPUR, March 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysia largest banking group, Maybank, has been voted "Best Private Banking Services in Malaysia" for the fourth consecutive year and its seventh time, in a global wealth management poll by the Euromoney.

The group also bagged 11 other awards in the 13th Euromoney Private Banking and Wealth Management Survey 2016 which involved more than 400 private banks in 69 countries.

This is the first time Maybank has topped 12 categories of the Euromoney Awards in Malaysia, said Head of Community Financial Services Malaysia Datuk Hamirullah Boorhan in a statement.

He added the recognition reinforced Maybank's position as Malaysia's leading wealth management provider in terms of service and product offerings.

"Over the past few years, we have been strengthening our wealth management services and actively expanding it across the region to fulfil the needs of the rapidly growing affluent customer segment.

"Today, we are among the leaders in this business in Southeast Asia with total assets under management averaging a growth rate of 14.33 per cent the last five years," he said.

Hamirullah also said wealth management was a key component of Maybank's retail banking business with growth's annual average rate of about 10 per cent over the last five years.

He said Maybank's premium banking services were currently present in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia and Brunei.

Under the poll, Maybank also topped in the 'Commercial Banking Capabilities', 'Research and Asset Allocation Advice' and 'Philanthropic Advice' categories.

The group was also named the best in "SRI/Social Impact Investing", "Succession Planning Advice and Trusts", "Innovative Technology - Client Experience" and "Back Office Systems" categories.

Maybank was ranked top in three categories under net-worth-specific services which measured the amount of assets managed by banks -- ultra high net worth clients (with managed assets of more than US$30 million); high net worth clients (US$5 million to US$30 million) and super affluent clients (US$1 million to US$5 million).
