MalacaAang urges Pinoys to ‘act collectively for progress’

MANILA -- MalacaAang on Monday extended its Christmas greetings to all Filipinos and encouraged them to think and care for each other and act collectively towards peace and progress.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo made this remark noting that the Philippines has been divided by murderous politics that festered decades of indifference, neglect and corruption.

As the New Year ushers in, it is high time that we set aside practices that destroy the dignity of the country and collectively act as one people and one nation towards peace and progress, Panelo said.

Together, let us think and care for our fellowmen and usher in a new era of hope, peace and development, he added.

Panelo reminded Filipinos that they are parts of a whole.

Let us remember that we are all parts of one whole, the injury to one limb affects the entire body, Panelo said.

The Palace once again wishes everyone a joyous and meaningful Christmas with family, friends and loved ones and a peaceful and prosperous New Year! he added.

Earlier, President Rodrigo R. Duterte, in his Christmas message aired over government-run People's Television (PTV), called on all Filipinos to practice compassion, kindness and reconciliation, not only this season but throughout the year.

Panelo said the Palace joins the President in his call.

Let the ideas of compassion, kindness, and reconciliation guide us as we embrace our countrymen in the spirit of shared humanity, the President said.

Together let us bring hope and peace in our nation this Yuletide season as we welcome the coming year with much hope and optimism, he added. I wish everyone a happy and meaningful Christmas."

Panelo said the President will spend Christmas with his family in Davao City just as he did in previous years. (PNA)
