MANILA, Philippines – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has grounded 15 units of a bus company for 30 days for the accident in Eastern Samarthat killed five persons and injured 8 others.
The LTFRB issued the preventive suspension order against DLTB bus company after one of its units involved in the fatal accident in Quinapondan, Eastern Samar was discovered to be plying out of line.
The only authorized route of the bus was San Pablo City, Laguna-Pasay City, the board said.
The board also issued a show cause order against the DLTB management to explain why it should not be slapped with a P1 million fine for the offense and its franchise revoked.
The LTFRB has ordered its personnel to confiscate the plate numbers of the 15 buses on Monday while hearing of the case has been scheduled on April 22.
