MANILA -- The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved a provisional PHP1 fare hike for public utility jeepneys in Metro Manila, Region 3 and 4.
LTFRB Board Member Aileen Lizada, in an interview, said the fare hike will be implemented 15 days after the publication of the LTFRB order.
Once the order is implemented, minimum jeepney fare in these areas will be PHP8.
The agency granted the petition of transport group Alliance of Concerned Transport Organization (ACTO), Alliance of Transport Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (ALTODAP), Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (FEJODAP), and Liga ng Transportation at Operators sa Pilipinas (LTOP) due to increasing fuel prices.(PNA)
