Lotto ticket bought in Pasay wins P71-M jackpot

A lone bettor in Metro Manila became PHP71 million richer after winning the Super Lotto 6/49 Tuesday night.

In an advisory on Wednesday, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said the lucky bettor guessed the winning combination of 44-05-17-48-13-43 with a jackpot of PHP71,360,581.

The ticket was purchased in Pasay City.

The bettor can claim his/her cheque at PCSO’s main office in Mandaluyong City and present the winning ticket and two identification cards.

As provided under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 shall be subject to a 20-percent tax.

Meanwhile, 11 other bettors guessed five out of the six two-digit winning combinations and won PHP50,000 each, the PCSO said.

About 562 bettors got PHP1,200 each for getting four of the winning combinations while 11,795 bettors won PHP50 each for guessing three right combinations.

The 6/49 Super Lotto is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

This is the second time this month wherein a sole bettor bagged the jackpot prize of the state lottery games.

A lone bettor from Pangasinan bagged the PHP51-million jackpot of the Lotto 6/42 draw last May 3.

PCSO General Manager Royina Garma urged the public to patronize PCSO games to generate more funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities.

Garma said through its mandatory contributions, the agency does not only help individuals in need of medical assistance but also provides funds to government institutions.
