MANILA Metro Manila will experience isolated rain showers Monday due to localized thunderstorms, as the easterlies affect the eastern section of the country.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said it is monitoring an active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
At 3 a.m., "Hagibis" was spotted at 2,980 kilometers east of southern Luzon, packing maximum winds of 120 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, gustiness of up to 150 kph, and moving northwest at 30 kph.
It may enter PAR on Thursday or Friday and will be named "Pearl".
The northern and eastern section of Luzon will have moderate to strong winds from the northeast to east with moderate to rough coastal waters.
Temperature in Manila ranges from 24-33 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 23-32 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 15-25 degrees Celsius, Metro Cebu 26-33 degrees Celsius and; Metro Davao 25-34 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
