MANILA Globe Telecom will conduct preventive maintenance work in its wireless network facilities from April to December this year in line with efforts to improve equipment reliability in several remote barangays of the country.
We need to ensure the reliability of our network equipment to continue providing quality experience to our customers, especially in the rural areas, said Globe Chief Technology and Information Officer Gil Genio in a statement Wednesday.
The maintenance activities, which will involve physical tower works such as stability check including bolt tightening; parts replacement and installation, as well as alignment, calibration and testing of antennas and outdoor system, will be conducted during daytime.
Selected areas where maintenance works are scheduled will experience temporary service interruptions for 2G, 3G and LTE services as these require a maximum of 5 hours to complete.
Globe will notify customers in affected areas that mobile and wireless broadband services will be affected through SMS or Email prior to the scheduled maintenance activities.
