Foundation donates nutritious biscuits for victims of ‘Ferdie’

National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director and Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ricardo B. Jalad received 14,000 packs of High Energy Biscuits known as "The Care Package" (TCP) from Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Augusto I. Carpio III for distribution to victims of Typhoon Ferdie in Batanes.

Also present were Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Deputy for Administration Atty. Kristoffer James E. Purisima, OCD Deputy for Operations Assistant Secretary Assistant Secretary Rodolfo Demosthenes C. Santillan, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Disaster Response and Management Bureau (DReaMB) Director Felino V. Castro V, and Aboitiz Equity Ventures First Vice President for Government Relations DJ Sta. Ana.

TCP are ready-to-eat biscuits that can be used for feeding programs and relief operations. It contains proteins, vitamins B1 to B12, carbohydrates, added sugar, fat, vitamins A, C, D3, and E, iodine, iron, magnesium, and calcium.

DSWD, as head of the Response Cluster of the NDRRMC, expressed gratitude and appreciation, through Assistant Secretary Hope Hervilla (not in photo), for the donation which will go a long way in meeting the nutritional needs of typhoon victims.
